About Michael

Michael Situ is a nationally recognized and award-winning artist in the United States. He is a Master Signature Member of Oil Painters of America. Signature Member of American Impressionist Society, California Art Club and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. He is a contemporary artist of America Impressionism style. He is known for his vivid, luminous and richly colored landscape of coast, mountain and various scenes that capture his imagination. Powerful compositions, strong brushwork, a gorgeous sense of color all come together in perfect harmony, marking him is a master of plein air painter. At an early age he begins to interest drawing and painting, going up in China where he studies at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, Situ developed a deep appreciation for nature and passion for art.

Michael immigrated to in the America in 1989 and now lives in southern California. He is a full time professional artist whose artwork has been exhibited in numerous prestigious national museum, participate in major invitational plein air competition, national juried exhibitions such as the Arts for the Park Top 100 International competition, the Oil painters of America National Juried Exhibition, the American Impressionist Society National Juried Exhibition, the California Art Club Gold Medal National Juried Exhibition, the Master of Fine Art Salon International juried Exhibition.

He has been exhibiting artist every year at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach since 2002. His paintings are collected by museum and numerous private collections throughout the United States, China and internationally.
